Allow a structure to be deactivated
Once a project is complete, I'd like to be able to mark the associated structure as inactive so that it no longer shows in the drop-down menu on the Structure tab. I could do this by deleting the structure, but I'd like to be able to save it in an "archive" state so that I can view it for historical/reference purposes. I could also do this by backing it up and then deleting it, but it would be nice if it could be done with just an attribute on the structure.
Implemented in Structure 2.9

I endorse this enhancement request!
We use Structures to group Jira’s into a meaningful “set”. Once the Jira’s within the structure are all closed, however, I’d like the Structure to be tagged as Closed as well. I’m not really expecting this to be done automatically - although that would be ideal.
I have no problem tagging a Structure with a status. It would then be ideal that the Search function then allow a search/filter to be done with the Status tag.
Eugene...the functional spec below you provided is on target 100%!
Once we release Structure 3.0 it will be possible to make a small plugin for adding attributes to structures. It will also include such features as generated structures (with group by and sorting functionality), ability to show issues with multiple parents, ability to use any JIRA artefacts as elements of the structure and more. However, it will take us some time to finish this version as it requires quite significant changes in the architecture.

We can't provide estimate for this feature at this time, sorry. It is unlikely that it will be implemented in the next three months.

We have the same problem as Rick and we would also recommend to add a function to archive a structure. We are using Structure also as reporting tool for our project management and it would be nice to be able to access an "old" Structure.
I have noticed the status of this suggestion is "planned". Are you able to tell when this feature is available? -
Julie, in your case I don't quite understand what is the problem -- you can create another structure, say, "Archive", and move issues/sections from the active structure to the Archive structure (see https://wiki.almworks.com/x/cwBy ). No keys should be regenerated. Could you please elaborate?

We are seeing something similar, but within the same structure. We have 1000s of issues and need to archive sections. However, if we 'move' them, the keys will be regenerated. Will be interesting to see how this is handled.

Rick, thanks for your comment! The current "Manage Structure" features like favorite structures and search are intended to mitigate this problem, but we'll look into archiving too.

I came looking to see if anyone else had this idea. We have become very dependent on Structure and created many structures over the last year. This is only going to get bigger going forward. We need a way to archive structures without deleting them or the total number will become un-manageable.

Good idea, thanks!
