  1. Autocomplete Frequently Obscures the Text I'm Trying to Edit

When doing things like adding a filter to an automation, the autocomplete frequently appears on top of the text I'm trying to edit, which prevents you from seeing what you are typing.

  2. Respect dates of future sprints

We want to plan projects using team sprints.

In the documentation https://wiki.almworks.com/display/gantt/Planning+with+Sprints you say:

Jira does not allow you to specify dates for future sprints, so Structure.Gantt schedules future sprints based on your Sprint configuration settings.

This is not true, we can specify dates of future sprints but Structure seems to ignore the dates.

    Hi Michael!

You’re right, starting from Jira 8.3 it is now possible to specify dates for future sprints, we’re going to support this in one of upcoming releases!

    Thank you for feedback!

  3. Granular control over Automation grouping, particularly with Labels

Currently, grouping within Automation is kind of an "all or nothing" approach. For example, we use labels to identify which "product" our epics are for, but we also use the Labels field to track other information. For our main Structure, what we want to do is have the Automation grouping only look at the 6 labels we currently use for "product" tracking and ignore all of the others, but I cannot seem to find a way to do this without manually creating my own folders and setting up the Automation for each one; the drawback to this is we can't…

  6. Group by Link Type

    Group by Link Type.

We have many link types used to represent different things.

    E.g.
    - A "Story" ticket may [LinkType: Satisfy] many "Acceptance Criteria" tickets
    - A "Bug" ticket may [LinkType: Block] a "Story Ticket"
    - An "Epic" may [LinkType: Solve] a "High Level Requirement" ticket

Where tickets have multiple types of link coming from them, would be nice to have that as an explicit folder / grouping in the tree.

    E.g.
    Story X

    Blocked By
    Bug Y
    Bug Z
    Solves
    Acceptance Criteria A
    Acceptance Criteria B

  7. Expand Editing from Gadget

Please add the ability to edit more fields especially custom fields from the Gadget (https://wiki.almworks.com/display/structure/Editing+from+Gadget). The ability to edit custom numeric fields via jira dashboards/confluence pages would be awesome!

Limiting number of resources that can be allocated for a day to specified number.

Use case: I have two people working on a project and they can't do more that two cards at the same time.

    Thank you for the suggestion!

We cannot reuse Jira’s issue view, so we will have to implement our own, and implementing it will be a challenge. Most of the Jira fields can already be viewed inside Structure and changed by inline editing.

Could you please describe what you would like to view or edit in the side panel?

  10. Don't Dismiss Automation Dialog When Pressing Escape Key

If you are adding a filter or some other automation that requires writing a query, the autocomplete often obscures the text of the query you are trying to write because the window is very small. If you press Escape to dismiss autocomplete to see what you are writing, the window closes, and you lose your work.

In other entries, like the issue search screen, pressing the Escape key dismisses autocomplete, so it is more likely you will lose your work because you have the muscle memory of pressing escape to dismiss autocomplete.

  11. Ability to Stop Structure from Updating So You Can Change the Automation

When trying to get the automation correct for a complex structure, you can spend a lot of time just waiting for things to load so you can update the automation. Would be great if there is a way to click on the spinning weel to stop the automation.

  12. Open issues in Jira search view

It would be helpful if you could open a folder, sub-folder or a grouping, within your structure, in the Jira search view pre-populated with the issues in folder. This would allow you to easily share specific issues in your structure with relevant engineers so that they don't have to find the issues themselves within your structure.

    Examples:
Create a sub-folder and insert issues using JQL. Open all the issues in that sub folder, in a Jira search view. From the Jira search, you can easily share with team members.

Thank you for the suggestion. As I understand, you want to share issues from the structure somehow, right?

There is the “Sharing a Perspective” feature in Structure for Jira On-Premise. It allows you to focus a specific folder or select some issues and share this view with others in the form of a permanent link.

Would this feature solve your problem if we migrate it to Structure Cloud? You can read more about it in our wiki https://wiki.almworks.com/display/structure/Sharing+a+Perspective

  13. Why the limited functionality of Structure Cloud?

Why the limited functionality? No Gadget for Dashboard? No column sort? No bulk change?

When using the CONCAT function, I would like to use the special character "line break" in the text I'm composing.

  15. Show Which Columns Have Been Edited Before You Revert

As a product manager editing a structure view that is being used by other people on my team, I want an indicator to show me which columns will be removed if I revert changes to the view, so that I can experiment with changes to a view and feel confident that I know which columns will be discarded when I revert changes.

This would be especially helpful for formula columns, as it can be time consuming to create them, and I want to feel confident I'm not going to lose work if I revert changes. It will also help me…

  17. Use Monaco editor for editing formulas

The Formula column is a killer feature, but it can get tricky when the formula expression grows larger than the size of the editing area, and has a few levels of nested expressions.

Beyond just the ability to enlarge the editor, it would be fantastic to have a more advanced editor to assist here, and the obvious candidate is the https://microsoft.github.io/monaco-editor/

My suggestion for iterations for this would be:
    - Just replacing the actual editor and make sure it's still working when editing and not (so no functional changes)
    - Adding config and definitions needed for highlighting brackets and auto…

  19. Removal of manual location of individual issues

When an issue is shifted manually around in a generated hierarchy, it retrieves the "hand" symbol and the position seems to be memorized in an (invisible, structure internal) attribute. Sometimes this memorized position gets in conflict with updates generator rules etc. and I want to withdraw the manual relocation. But not for all relocated issues (which is possible) but only for individual ones.
