Ability to compare percentage realized versus percentage predicted (as a new calculated column) on the structure.
Igor,
I wonder if it is possible to create some kind of calculated column to show the percentage of the predicted structure for the current moment.
Obviously if the issue had any reference date (ie due date) for comparison and the grand parent issue too. Just like we do on a project via MS Project.
This is to compare how we are, in percentage terms (functionality already implemented) versus how we supposed to be (forecast until the present day).
I leave here the challenge to improve (even more) this fantastic ADD-ON.
Cheers!

Michel, thanks for your comments! We don't plan to integrate with MS Project, rather implement the required Project functionality in the Structure itself :) However, it's possible and a good idea to write a one-time migration tool from Project to JIRA/Structure. There are also a couple of plugins for integrating JIRA with Project, but as far as I know they don't support Structure.
As for the calculating the percentage, I'd love to discuss that - I'll send you an email.
Thanks,

Additionally, I think an integration with MS Project would be nice to have and I believe that I read something related to that on your ideas' backlog list. But, sincerely, I would not like to depend on MS Project integration to have this kind of feature.
Indeed, I don't want to depend MS Project for nothing. Nothing at all.

Hi Igor,
I agreed with you. That's true, we'll need more information to calculate the predicted percentage information...
Thinking on that, I imagined the following, what if the structure identify all the parent issues in a simple interaction throughout all the structure issues and check if each issue has the pre-req information* for calculation (i.e. StartPlannedDate and EndPlannedDate or even Due Date). For each parent issue that has the pre-req informed, the structure would present the calculation, otherwise, the column would be presented as empty content.
pre-req information* - These kind of information would be presented for the user as new configurations to the structure, only if the user would want to "play" with the structure as a gantt chart (aka MS Project). However, if the user don't opt to configure these informations, the structure wouldn't present the "new" calculated column to be selected to the structure.
I'd really like to discuss this idea with you.
Please, let me know if you think they (ideas above) are possible ideas for you.
Thanks!

Michel, thanks for your suggestion. I think a calculation like this requires some additional data, that's not there yet in JIRA and Structure. It's closer to Gantt charts, where each task has start/finish dates, whether calculated or manually set. Without that information, it's not clear how would one calculate predicted percentage -- if you have any ideas on that, I'll be happy to discuss.
We're planning to work on Gantt chart - related functionality in the future and will likely have Structure more apt to add this feature as well.
On a side note, currently it is possible to extend Structure functionality by adding new column types in a 3rd-party plugin. If you have developers who do custom plugins for your JIRA, they can create columns for Structure with any possible custom calculations.
