Show progress of selected issue/task in Confluence
In our company we use very closely JIRA and Confluence. Structure allows us to properly organize issues based on our demands and workflows and it works perfectly for people who are assigning tasks or implementing them. But we use Confluence for executive summary of progress on specific builds where would be very helpful if we can display progress bar of a specific issue (counted from all issues below of selected issue in the hierarchy). This way we would be able to create great overviews like e.g. "Bug fixing of Feature1", "Implementing Feature2", ... with progress bars behind without a need of displaying complicated window with all issues in the hierarchy.
Having possibility to select display mode as in Roadmap for JIRA (displaying open, in-progress and resolved issues with different color) would be absolutely awesome :)

thank you very much.

David, thanks for the clarification.
I think we'll work on more Confluence integration with additional macros, and your example is a very good one. However, at this time I cannot promise you any release date for such feature.
Regarding colored bar with statuses – there's a complimentary plugin that adds this functionality (although not as a Confluence macro, but as a Structure column). Please check "status-bar-column" plugin in our wiki: https://wiki.almworks.com/x/y4J7

Hi Igor,
you can use macros also as content for tables so they can be in one line with additional text but it is great note. I suppose that better would be if macro itself had as parameter text to display next to the progress bar and that should solve issues with macro being as a block.
Parameters then should be: text to display, issue ID, structure, show percentage (yes, no), progress based on (resolution only, status, time tracking). As about parameters for progress it is ok to have them simplified but if full params are possible as in structure page then it wouldn't hurt.
Maybe one addition, as I mentioned in original comment. When selecting based on = status, it would be awesome if there is possibility to select option "colored status" and it would display full bar in 3 colors = red for all open issues, yellow for issues in progress and green for resolved issues.
Thanks a lot for considering this macro :)

Hi David,
Thanks for your suggestion! It does make sense and it sounds doable through another Gadget, embeddable in Confluence.
Could you please clarify, what would be the desired parameters for this Confluence macro? From what I can tell, one would have to specify the issue, the structure and then all the parameters used to define Progress column. (Which are quite a few.) Would you need anything else?
Also, how would you like the result to look like?
As far as I remember, the external gadgets are shown in Confluence as separate blocks – but that needs checking. If you need to place such macro inline with some other text, that might be challenging.
Kind regards,
Igor
