Provide an automated backup mechanism similar to Jira and/or a command line interface to initiate a backup.
Jira allows automated backups to take place. If I install Structure, I need to manually initiate Structure backups. It would be preferable to have automated Jira and Structure backups.

Nancy, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately, there's currently no way to run a backup remotely. One could write a JIRA plugin which would use Structure API to run the backup. If you think your company can do that, check out Developer's docs - https://wiki.almworks.com/x/oYF7 - and StructureBackupManager interface.
I've also created a feature request in our JIRA - feel free to comment/vote: https://jira.almworks.com/browse/HJ-1479

Igor, I see that you have automated backups from jira. That looks great. We need a way to run a backup and/or maintenance from the command line. We run a script that backs up our jira mysql db 4 times a day using mysqldump and would need to run a structure backup at the same time. This is the only way we can keep jira and structure in sync at backup time. How can we back up from command line? Thanks!

This feature is coming soon in version 2.1!

When will this be implemented? We are looking for the same solution.

I'm also very interested in having a way to automate the process of backing up Structure. A backup scheduler would satisfy our needs.

Thanks for the idea! If/when we move to Active Object, Structure backup will be part of JIRA backup. Until then, we can implement a simple backup scheduler.
