Add "Basic" search feature as an alternative to JQL
For users who are not well versed in JQL, it would be nice to have the ability to add Jira filters in a way that is comparable to Jira's "Basic" search feature, rather than by inputting the JQL manually.
Perhaps, on the dialog that is displayed when the user adds a JQL insert automation for the first time, we could have a "Basic" link that converts the query to the basic view, just like Jira's issue navigator. Then, all the JQL would be converted into a series of UI inputs (user pickers, drop-downs, etc).
In addition to this, it would be nice to be able to use this "Basic" feature when specifying "issuekey = ..." conditions. Jira's basic search does not allow you to use these conditions - it forces you to switch to the "Advanced" (JQL) search. This would be helpful for us because we find that we often use structure to display a list of linked issues to one specific issue key. Having this ability would allow the user viewing the structure to simply pick another issue key in a dynamic drop-down, updating the structure. :)

Julia - what is the status of this feature being added? You indicated in a comment from 2019 that it is on the roadmap.
Thanks!

Hello Shane,
Thank you for your suggestion, especially about issue key! It is already in our roadmap since we are going to work on simplifying the interface.
