JIRA OnDemand installable
Right now this plugin is not available for JIRA OnDemand, having used this at a previous company, it's a big pain point that it is missing in the OnDemand version.
See details in this suggestion: https://structure.uservoice.com/forums/43181/suggestions/15698640.

Update: ALM Works hopes to have a Structure cloud solution in late 2018 and you can help ensure we build the product you need. If you're willing to share your desired cloud use cases, and other thoughts about what you'd most like to see in a Structure Cloud product, please consider joining the Structure Cloud early access program (EAP).
You can learn more about the EAP, or join the Structure Cloud mailing list, here: http://alm.works/ceap

If I may add to this comment; I respect the issue of upgrading difficulties, but the alternative to this right now is a (less functional, but still usable) "Issue Organizer by Bauer", which supports basic Structure building (called "Organizer") similar to the structure process.
I guess depending on your target customer size and project size, I can understand where some aspects are going to be difficult to integrate, however depending on the success of Jira Cloud vs. Jira Server, the obvious case right now is that Bauer is ahead by delivering a semi-comparable product for Cloud and has potentially more time to improve upon this architecture with lessons already learned.

Hi Cameron, thanks for your suggestion!
As much as I hate to say it, but we won't be able to create an OnDemand solution in the near future. It's not just about making the plugin "compatible", it almost a complete rewrite of the whole product, because of the different architecture.
There are also challenges which raise a question of technical feasibility of such solution, because Structure would have to be hosted at a separate server, but it will need to load a lot of data from JIRA for aggregation.
I am sorry that this won't work out anytime soon. What we see sometimes is that companies start with JIRA Cloud but later move on to the "Download" version of JIRA, either hosted by themselves, or by one of the Atlassian partners - specifically to be able to install any plugins. Let us know at sales@almworks.com if you need a recommendation for an Atlassian hosting provider that can host JIRA and Structure.
Kind regards,

Thanks, Myles, for understanding. Atlassian do have a reason (stability and maintenance effort of JIRA Cloud in case multiple vendors that are not controlled by Atlassian are having their code "in process" with JIRA), but nevertheless, it's regrettable.
I will close this feedback as of now as "declined", but it's not impossible that we get back to the Connect-based Structure in some future.
Kind regards,

Thank you for the explanation and quick response. Looks like I'll continue missing it for the foreseeable future... That seems like an unfortunate decision by Atlassian, though I'm sure they have their reasons too, but it means the OnDemand customers are really missing out.

Hi Myles,
Thanks for having used Structure and trying to bring it to your new company! Unfortunately, we don't see Structure becoming available for JIRA Cloud (OnDemand) in the foreseeable future.
The problem is that Atlassian now requires Cloud add-ons to be written on an entirely different platform, called Atlassian Connect. We have a couple of problems with that. First of all, that would require rewriting a big chunk of our product from scratch. That's a large investment to make. Secondly, because Connect-based add-ons would be hosted by the vendor (that is us) somewhere apart from the JIRA Cloud itself, some features might become technically unfeasible - for example, aggregation of values in large structures would require transfer of a lot of data from JIRA to our server, and that would take forever.
Sometimes we see people starting off with JIRA Cloud and then migrating to their own JIRA Server instance. Please check up with your IT dept if that could be a possible migration in your company.
Sorry once again that I couldn't give you any good news. Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks
Igor
