Have a structure folder be a Jira component
Would be great if this could work in 1 or both directions:
When creating a folder, I have the option of pulling a component from my component list (perhaps there could be an option to instantly pull in all existing issues in the component)
Ability to "nominate" a folder as a component (perhaps there could also be the option to add existing and newly added issues from the folder inside the structure to the Jira component)

For now, folders are designed as our internal entities to structure a hierarchy. But you can use Grouper Automation by Component. https://wiki.almworks.com/display/strcloud/Field+Grouper
If Field Grouper doesn’t work for you, could you please share your use case? Why do you need to integrate folders and Jira components?

Support S-JQL in JIRA Cloud
S-JQL is supported in non-Cloud versions of Structure. It would be really helpful if it could be made available to the Cloud version as well.
7 votesThank you for your suggestion!
Unfortunately, Jira Cloud does not support custom JQL functions for now. So it’s not possible to migrate S-JQL as is.
We may try to find a workaround for some specific use-cases. So could you please describe what you want to do with S-JQL? -
More/Custom/RGB coded colours in appearance settings
There are only several colors in appearance setting for each slice. Please add setting of color with ring or with Color code to have unlimited quantity of colours for Gantt bars.
As example we want to color different assignees with different colors, and we have more then 6 assignees3 votes -
Named perspectives
This one is so obvious - I'm surprised I didn't find it already.
Provide a feature to save a Named Perspective that is permanent (until deleted) and can be modified. This would 1000% improve the usefulness of perspective views for us. As it works now, there are two major issues with perspective links:
1) When not used for awhile, the perspective gets deleted and users are confused when they load the link
2) There is no way to update the perspective. For example, if we want to add, remove, or change the fields shown, there is no way to update…1 votePlease check the comment!

Possibility of adding gateway/milestone lines to the gantt chart.
I suggest to add the possibility to add a milestone/gateway line in the gantt chart. A simple feature as this ought to be a part of a gantt program.

Color settings for baseline bars
Now baseline bar can be only gray. If you print Gantt chart on paper it is not easy to see baseline bars.
Can you add color settings (maybe like for slices) for choosing color for baseline bars?3 votesHi Alexander! Thank you for the request, so am I getting you right that your idea is to be able to select the baseline color while exporting Gantt chart? Would making it more contrast by default help you?

Risk Management in Structure
For our company would be useful a risk management addition, a same feature as Big Picture has with the Risk matrix.

Feedback on Learning About Structures
I'm a product manager and have a technical background, but pretty much had to figure out how structures work using trial and error. I gave up the first few times I tried to build one because I just didn't get what was going on.
It wasn't until I had a need to look at data across teams in a specific way, that without a structure, would have resulted in a ton of duplicated effort in Excel, that I forced myself to figure out how they work. At that point, I also discovered the formula columns and found that documentation to…

Autocomplete Frequently Obscures the Text I'm Trying to Edit
When doing things like adding a filter to an automation, the autocomplete frequently appears on top of the text I'm trying to edit, which prevents you from seeing what you are typing.

Respect dates of future sprints
We want to plan projects using team sprints.
In the documentation https://wiki.almworks.com/display/gantt/Planning+with+Sprints you say:
Jira does not allow you to specify dates for future sprints, so Structure.Gantt schedules future sprints based on your Sprint configuration settings.
This is not true, we can specify dates of future sprints but Structure seems to ignore the dates.
2 votesHi Michael!
You’re right, starting from Jira 8.3 it is now possible to specify dates for future sprints, we’re going to support this in one of upcoming releases!
Thank you for feedback!

Granular control over Automation grouping, particularly with Labels
Currently, grouping within Automation is kind of an "all or nothing" approach. For example, we use labels to identify which "product" our epics are for, but we also use the Labels field to track other information. For our main Structure, what we want to do is have the Automation grouping only look at the 6 labels we currently use for "product" tracking and ignore all of the others, but I cannot seem to find a way to do this without manually creating my own folders and setting up the Automation for each one; the drawback to this is we can't…

Group by Link Type
Group by Link Type.
We have many link types used to represent different things.
E.g.
- A "Story" ticket may [LinkType: Satisfy] many "Acceptance Criteria" tickets
- A "Bug" ticket may [LinkType: Block] a "Story Ticket"
- An "Epic" may [LinkType: Solve] a "High Level Requirement" ticketWhere tickets have multiple types of link coming from them, would be nice to have that as an explicit folder / grouping in the tree.
E.g.
Story XBlocked By
Bug Y
Bug Z
Solves
Acceptance Criteria A
Acceptance Criteria B9 votes -
Expand Editing from Gadget
Please add the ability to edit more fields especially custom fields from the Gadget (https://wiki.almworks.com/display/structure/Editing+from+Gadget). The ability to edit custom numeric fields via jira dashboards/confluence pages would be awesome!

As a user I would like to be able to view issues in a side pane instead of having to load a new page
As a user, I would like to be able to view issues in a side pane instead of having to load a new page, so I save time in looking at the details of each issue
8 votesThank you for the suggestion!
We cannot reuse Jira’s issue view, so we will have to implement our own, and implementing it will be a challenge. Most of the Jira fields can already be viewed inside Structure and changed by inline editing.
Could you please describe what you would like to view or edit in the side panel?

Don't Dismiss Automation Dialog When Pressing Escape Key
If you are adding a filter or some other automation that requires writing a query, the autocomplete often obscures the text of the query you are trying to write because the window is very small. If you press Escape to dismiss autocomplete to see what you are writing, the window closes, and you lose your work.
In other entries, like the issue search screen, pressing the Escape key dismisses autocomplete, so it is more likely you will lose your work because you have the muscle memory of pressing escape to dismiss autocomplete.
