  1. Create a method to prevent parental and causal links to sub-tasks unless those sub-tasks have sub-issues

if you have issues with sub-task type issues there's no way to pull those sub-tasks and any child or resulted in linked issues into a structure without structure creating child and resulted in links for all sub-task tasks of those parent issues. It appears that any configuration of the links synchronizers will results in the sub-tasks getting child and resulted in links to the parent issue. If this is true, I propose the following feature request.
In the Links Synchronizer, create a sub filtering feature that uses the logic of: "don't create parental or causal links for sub-task type issues…

  2. import from excel

First set of columns each represent a structure level.
Following structure, top row includes field names for data entry (e.g. Story Points, Type=Epic, Story...

    |Jurassic Park|T-Rex| | ... |New Feature|
    |Jurassic Park|T-Rex|Goat Release| ... |Story |

  3. Print Structure Cleanly

Right now, I have two choices, export to Excel or print from the structure board.

In our situation, the description and acceptance criteria have bullets, numbers and other items allowed in JIRA's rich editor.

When exporting to Excel, this renders as HTML tags which Office does not accept and render correctly.

When using the print functionality, JIRA Issues cross over page breaks (which we could fix if we could have it render in Excel)

The reason this is a concern for us is that or customers want to be able to review the technical architecture. ePrinting is our only real…

  4. Show progress of selected issue/task in Confluence

In our company we use very closely JIRA and Confluence. Structure allows us to properly organize issues based on our demands and workflows and it works perfectly for people who are assigning tasks or implementing them. But we use Confluence for executive summary of progress on specific builds where would be very helpful if we can display progress bar of a specific issue (counted from all issues below of selected issue in the hierarchy). This way we would be able to create great overviews like e.g. "Bug fixing of Feature1", "Implementing Feature2", ... with progress bars behind without a need…

  5. Connnect more than one JIRA instance

When working with external partners they often use their own JIRA instance. You can connect them via the JIRA application link feature with your own JIRA instance and are able to set links between issues in the two JIRA instances this way.

It would be great to be able to display linked issues from the remote JIRA in your own structures.

  6. ...have separators, or sticky issues, that stay on top.

My idea is that I want specific issues to not be affected by the sorting. Not affected, so that they can stay on top (or bottom).

Another cool way to do this may be a separator or separators, that can be added similar to the way folders are added. Except these separators allow their content to stay where the user assigns it to.

  7. Hide empty folders

In structure folders created based on custom fields will show "no value"-folder in case issues haven't set the related custom field. It would be nice to get an option to define whether to show such "no value" folders or to show such issues without a folder under their parent.

  8. Export Resource usage to excel, to generate shareable reports

I'd like to be able to share resource usage information with people not using jira.
Export to excel of the resource usage table could be useful.
Graphical and printable representations of table also could be useful.

Hi Andrea! An export of Resource allocation is planned to be done in one of upcoming versions. Thank you for feedback!

  9. Don't Dismiss Automation Dialog When Pressing Escape Key

If you are adding a filter or some other automation that requires writing a query, the autocomplete often obscures the text of the query you are trying to write because the window is very small. If you press Escape to dismiss autocomplete to see what you are writing, the window closes, and you lose your work.

In other entries, like the issue search screen, pressing the Escape key dismisses autocomplete, so it is more likely you will lose your work because you have the muscle memory of pressing escape to dismiss autocomplete.

  11. Respect dates of future sprints

We want to plan projects using team sprints.

In the documentation https://wiki.almworks.com/display/gantt/Planning+with+Sprints you say:

Jira does not allow you to specify dates for future sprints, so Structure.Gantt schedules future sprints based on your Sprint configuration settings.

This is not true, we can specify dates of future sprints but Structure seems to ignore the dates.

    Hi Michael!

You’re right, starting from Jira 8.3 it is now possible to specify dates for future sprints, we’re going to support this in one of upcoming releases!

    Thank you for feedback!

  12. Ability to work with Insight-object attributes

Insight is part of JIRA now. However, in Structure formulas there is no way to process with Insight-object attributes. Need to fix it

  13. Enable fixed width panels for markdown formula columns

Discussed in #structure-cloud slack channel. https://structurecommunity.slack.com/archives/C0233G6R4JF/p1662733497048309

A formula column set to markdown rendering can display panels. The only available formatting for those panels is the background and text color. We use formula columns for a number of purposes with dynamic content. A simple case could just be displaying the number of children.

As the number of children (or any content within a formula column) changes, the resulting width of that panel changes. The number 1 is narrower than the number 8. When looking at a full structure with each item having a formula column, the entire column is jarring to…

  14. Add a Progress Bar column type for formula based columns

Need a new column type for formulas to represent progress bars. E.g. in addition to general, number, markdown, add progress.

If possible also adding a new check box that allows for percentages greater than 100 so that we can represent things like benefits where the actuals are greater than the target amount.

  15. Have a calculated "Slack" column

Structure/Gantt should have a "Slack" column that shows the number of days/weeks that a task can be delayed before any task that depends on it is delayed.

This is critical when viewing complex projects and needing to know what can be delayed when new work comes up or tasks take longer than expected.

  16. Allow users to select any task/milestone and see its critical path

There are various reasons why this is essential for large or interdependent projects:

    1. Large projects often have multiple future milestones at fixed points. We don't often want to view the critical path of the future-most milestone, we mostly want the next upcoming milestone. We can exclude milestones except for the upcoming one, but then we need to keep adjusting the structure, and we can't see all the milestones at once (eg: maybe the next milestone after is also at risk).

    2. Our projects invariably have inter-project dependencies. At the very least, the dependencies are resource-based (eg: we're sharing resources between projects).…

  17. Allow entering list values on separate table rows

It would be nice to have options of single and multi-select list fields optionally displayed in different rows.

    Hi Dimitrios,

Thank you for the request. Could you please clarify a little what do you mean by select fields displayed in rows?

Is it about Jira fields? Do you want them to be in rows, but not columns? How would you like to use it and why?

    Thank you,

    Konstantin

  18. Support Rich Text In Note Columns

Note Columns don't support any formatting currently, also line breaks are ignored when a note column is displayed.
Rich Text editing and display, based on markup or a rich text editor, would be great.

  20. Deleting of items should also be possible with a short cut key combination - not only removing the items from the structure

Preferably without requiring an acknowledgement. The aim would be to mimic the speed of mind mapping tools for capturing information in meetings. One of the issues is if one wants to delete a item it should be as fast as creating one
